HEAD OF FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION
c.£45k (pro-rata 3/4 days)
The RWA seeks a proactive Head of Finance & Administration to provide a sustainable and controlled platform for delivery of its activities.
The role is wider than pure finance – it is to support the Director to deliver the ‘mission’, ensuring that the back office/infrastructure, commercial processes and grant funded activities of the charity are managed in a disciplined fashion – to time, cost and quality. Therefore the remit covers IT/MI, acting as Secretary to the Board, handling HR, payroll, grant applications, insurance and property issues – it’s about stewardship in its widest sense. However, the prime responsibility is for the financial probity, performance and control of the organisation – monthly and annual accounting cycles, bank liaison, cash and cost management, as well as strategic planning and tactical/operational budgeting. The requirement is to provide the Board with financial clarity, control and commercial/curatorial viability on an ongoing basis.
You are a graduate and a qualified accountant seeking a new challenge and are attracted by this proposition. You may be a senior financial executive seeking a greater work/life balance/flexibility or are returning from (or needing to accommodate) a family care break. Either way quality/flexibility of working life is critical to you. You have the highest standards of professional delivery, are a self-starter and ‘run lean’ resource-wise, as well as being used to Board exposure. A tall order, but in return you have the opportunity to be part of a passionate and dedicated team within a unique organisation in the South West/Bristol, engaging with art and artists and helping to shape the future of “a jewel in the crown of England’s exhibition venues.”
