Gordon Ward
Gordon Ward trained at the Norwich School of Art and afterwards at the Slade. He became a Senior Lecturer in charge of Painting at the Gloucester College of Art and Design, Cheltenham.
He has been a member of the Royal West of England Academy since 1961 and has served on the Selection and Hanging Committee of the RWA in 1978 and later on the council from 1985 to 1987.
He has had solo exhibitions since 1980 at the Park Gallery Cheltenham, the New Ashgate Gallery, Ogle Gallery Cheltenham and Park View Fine Art in Bristol. He has also shown in group exhibitions at the Royal Academy, the Royal Scottish Academy, Beaux Arts Gallery Bath, Hunting Group Art Prizes, Upton Lodge Gallery and the New Gallery Swansea.
His work is included in the collections of the Royal Bank of Scotland, the Prudential Assurance Company, Robert Fleming Holdings and the Cheltenham and Gloucester Building Society as well as various private collections.
