John Palmer

John Palmer studied at the West of England College of Art from 1954 to 1955 and followed this with an apprenticeship in Design & Illustration. He is a member, and has twice been President of the Bristol Savages, an artists group that was founded by Bristol artists at the beginning of the twentieth century.

He has published two books by Anaya (Collins & Brown), and has provided teaching and other articles for national and international magazines, including 'Artists and Illustrators' and 'International Artist'. He is also active as a leader on residential art courses in North Wales and Yorkshire. He gives demonstrations and one-day workshops with Art Societies at venues throughout the U.K.

His work has been widely exhibited and is in many private and public collections, including the Marquis of Bath's Wessex Collection and he executes commissions for corporate clients. His work has been selected for exhibitions in London in the 'Laing Landscape' and the 'Singer & Friedlander / Sunday Times' Watercolour competitions. He also has shown work at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours. His work is regularly on display at Bath Fine Art Gallery in Bath.
