Patrick Daw

Measurement and draughtsmanship are key elements of Daw's studio practice. His sculptures are often re-interpretations of familiar objects, incorporating changes of scale or medium. Being a natural problem-solver he is capable of working with almost any material although wood has always been a favourite.

Patrick Daw was elected into the Academy in 2003 and served on the RWA Council from 2005 to 2008.

Of his work, Pat says: 'Part sculpture, part engineering, my work incorporates attention to detail and craftsmanship. Humour and anomaly are recurring themes... I enjoy the process of interpreting a commission and endeavouring to meet the demands of a brief.'
