For Ros, collage is a means of disrupting intention with chance. The coloured or printed pieces offer a visual conversation between randomness and meaning which allows the image to develop in surprising ways. Conscious and unconscious thought processes can mutually merge during the process of making to create a kind of magical result. Further, the conversation set up between collage and painted or drawn elements leads to a conclusion that cannot be anticipated.

Her workshops are designed to stimulate a sense of fun and imaginative possibilities in image making, to encourage fearless play and the pushing of personal boundaries.

Making art from discarded stuff, giving logos, adverts, wrappings and so on, a new and poetic function alongside paint and drawing materials is another way to explore colour, texture, design and imagery and to develop a feeling for the nuanced interplay of these.
