Sara Easby

Sara Easby has taught at the RWA Drawing School (formerly Bristol Drawing School) even before it moved to the RWA.

She maintains the approach that drawing is a language in itself, and believes in its value in education, the creative industries and in personal development. She has taught and practiced in a wide range of situations throughout her career.

When teaching she encourages an intuitive approach and aims to nurture students’ creative potential through the process of drawing. Her interest in drawing movement began when designing for contemporary dance. She also shares her experience of costume design when running costume drawing workshops.

Sara is a freelance tutor of life drawing for Aardman Animations and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She has taught at UWE, Bristol University and Plymouth University.

In her earlier career as a designer she worked at theatres including the Bristol Old Vic and the Royal Court Theatre London. She ran a puppet company, and produced installations for public spaces.
Currently in her personal practice Sara is exploring the fugitive, immersive and imaginary nature of landscape through the process of drawing into painting. Her paintings are in a number of private collections and she exhibits her work publicly.
