Vera was born in Germany and took a degree in History and English before studying Fine Art at the Academy of Art in Muenster. She moved to Bristol in 2004.
Vera is interested in processes of mark making and repetition, often exploiting accidental or intuitive marks to create not quite regular patterns and structures.
Grids have become important in her work as manifestation of a human need for order.
Vera has been an Academician since 2011 and lectures part time at Bristol School of Art.
