As part of Bristol Open Doors Day, Dr Marie Mulvey-Roberts, Associate Professor in English Literature, UWE, Bristol, will read from a short selection of WWI related poetry and prose, including the work of Bristol poets.

Join Dr Justine Hopkins for an in depth study of John and Paul Nash's artworks, with a focus on their representations of the British landscape, as featured in the Brothers in Art exhibition.

If you are looking for more focussed art-making workshops, exploring a range of skills and techniques, from colour theory to proportion and perspective, then Scribble and Sketch EXTRA could be just for you! It will be run alternately by our regular Scribble and Sketch tutor, artist Anouk Mercier, and children's book author-illustrator Sarah Smith.

The cycle opens with a work utterly deserving of the title 'masterpiece'. A seemingly simple work, it was composed against the backdrop of the birth of his son and the triumphant premier of his Fifth Symphony. Its untroubled nature continues through the Quartet No 2 and the first movement of the Quartet No 3.
