I paint with urgency and excitement, making swift progress. Composition, colour and tone, and the quality of mood and marks made are all important to me. I work on site in all weathers and constantly changing lighting conditions. I am moved by the colours of all the seasons, the landscapes and seascapes of Cornwall, Brittany, the harbourside at Bristol, and more recently the Dorset and South Devon coast.
