Please note: the galleries will be closing early (last entry from 4.30pm) on 21 November 2019
The RWA is located in the heart of Bristol and is open throughout the year, Tuesday to Saturday 10am-5.30pm, Sunday 11am-5pm. We are closed on Mondays.
Our main exhibitions are held upstairs in our beautiful, purpose-built galleries, described by Sir Nicholas Serota (Chair, Arts Council) as one of the most beautiful galleries in the country.

Exhibitions at the RWA
Our next major exhibition at RWA is the 167 Annual Open Exhibition. This dynamic and varied exhibition invites painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, installation and mixed media submissions and is a showcase of some of the most exciting artists from across the country and beyond. All work is for sale, making the Annual Open a perfect opportunity to discover new artists or invest in well-known names. Book in advance and save on exhibition admission.
We also host a changing programme of free exhibitions throughout the year. Visit our 'What's On' page to view all current and upcoming exhibitions and events.
We are always happy to provide a welcome talk for pre-booked visiting groups of 12 or more, and also offer a group discount - please phone (01179735129) or email us to book your visit.
The listed building offers disabled access throughout, with level access to the Shop on the ground floor, and there is lift access to all of the Galleries and to our accessible toilet on the lower floor. A manually operated wheelchair is also available to borrow during your visit.
An accessible parking bay is located outside the building, on the forecourt. Please call the Welcome Desk in advance of your visit to book the space, or email email@example.com. The RWA welcomes guide and assistance dogs, but we regret that we cannot allow other dogs into the building.
The RWA staff and volunteer team are available to assist you during your visit. Please call the Welcome Desk for any specific requirements or accessibility questions. Please download a copy of our Access statement below.
Please note that we offer large print copies of our gallery interpretation texts. We also offer tours for the visually impaired. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for further details.
