2001/02 South West Arts Commission Award (Year of the Artist). 'To Interpret the Quality of Silence', to explore the context of silence within the space of sound.

"Soldiers mothers at the Russian front" Mark Burkardt, London. 1995.
2001/2002 Arts Council Award for Painting, Year of the Artist, Major Prize, Messiaen "Quartet for the end of time".
Messiaen was made a prosoner of war, during which time he composed his Quatuor pour la fin du temps ("Quartet for the end of time") for the four available instruments - piano, violin, cello and clarinet. The piece was first performed by Messiaen and fellow prisoners for an audience of inmates and prison guards.

2003 Collaboration with Gloucester Cathedral, "Red Rose"
Work made in commemoration for soldiers who served in the trenches of the 1st WW.
Hosts for South West Arts for Artists from Bosnia and Croatia during the conflict.
