Laurence Kell is a figurative painter living in Bristol. He studied art and design at Falmouth School of Art and developed his drawing under Saied Dai at Widcombe studios in Bath.
Over the last fifteen years Laurence has painted portraits to commission. His work is true to life in the traditional sense.
He also makes his own works these have been regularly exhibited at the Mall Galleries, the National Portrait Gallery and the Ruth Borchard Self Portrait exhibition.
From his studio in Bristol, Laurence has recently been exploring themes within the genres of landscape and still life.
Laurence believes that a good foundation in drawing is essential for aspiring artists in all areas of the visual arts. He has been teaching life drawing, portrait drawing and oil painting at the RWA for 3 years.
