Sandra Porter

Sandra Porter studied Fine Art at Stourbridge College of Art, achieved an MA in Fine Art Painting from Chelsea School of Art in 1981 and studied Printmaking with Dorothea Wight at Morley College in the 1990s.

She is a contemporary abstract artist interested in the symbiotic relationship between painting, drawing and printmaking. Her work currently explores a fascination with grids, stripes and recurrent schemes.

Sandra creates series of images that are similar but not the same. Pieces differ; reflect each other yet also work independently. Her viscosity etchings and collographs demonstrate this principle in its most abstract form.

Following a teaching career of some 30 years she now works as a full time artist and runs printmaking workshops in her studio. She is also a curator at Black Swan Arts, Frome.
