Michael Hitchings

Mike Hitchings trained at the Royal West of England School of Architecture from 1945 to 1946. He was a partner in the architectural practice of Moxley, Jenner & Partners in Bristol. He retired as an architect in 2000 and now concentrates on painting and drawing, mainly working in Cornwall. He is a regular exhibitor to the RWA and was included in the Seven Academicians Exhibition in 1995.

He is also an active musician playing trombone, soprano sax and clarinet. After military service he joined 'The Avon Cities' on clarinet and led the band on soprano sax. He has accompanied some great names in jazz such as Muddy Waters, Big Bill Broonzy, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee amongst several others.
