My work is generated by a response to nature and landscape, immersed in the activity of the Garden/Moor/Field, Nature and its changing state not necessarily its beauty and charm, the changing light but its harshness and vital change. Not imitative but associative, recording feelings and idea conjured by place, light and force of nature. In some cases not a single location/place rather a state of mind. One works hard to find a language to describe the experience of being in that time moving through recording in sketchbook and memory.
