One Donation, Twice the Impact: Help us raise £10,000 for our Happy Families & Happy Mondays sessions

Campaign live from 18 – 25 March

For one week only, every donation you make will be matched, meaning we can raise £10,000 together to fund our vital creative sessions for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEN+D) and their families.

What is Happy Families & Happy Mondays?

For many children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEN+D), access to cultural and creative activities is limited. Many venues are not equipped to meet their needs, making school trips and art workshops rare or impossible.

At the RWA (Royal West of England Academy), we believe that art should be for everyone. That’s why we run Happy Families and Happy Mondays, specialist creative sessions designed specifically for children with SEN+D and their families.

These calm, inclusive, and expertly led sessions take place when the gallery is closed to the public, offering families a unique opportunity to engage with art in a safe and welcoming space.

ShapeWhy We Need Your Support

From 18 – 25 March, we’re running a one-week fundraising campaign to secure these essential sessions for future generations.

Your donation will help cover the essential costs of:

🎨 Artist-facilitators who deliver expert-led creative sessions
🎨 Specialist materials and equipment tailored to diverse needs
🎨 Access provisions to ensure families feel comfortable and supported

And right now, your donation goes even further!

Your £1 turns into £2, £5 into £10, £50 into £100 - you get the gist!
The Big Give Art for Impact campaign and other donors have pledged to match the first £5000 we raise - meaning your contribution doubles in impact.

How Your Donation Helps

💙 £20 – Covers specialist resources for one child
💙 £50Covers art materials for one session
💙 £400 – Supports a full-day workshop for multiple families
💙 £1,000+ – Helps us expand the programme to new families and schools

Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference in the lives of children and families who often face barriers to cultural experiences.

Shape The Impact: Stories from Families

"I feel so privileged to bring my children to these sessions where we all feel supported and free to be ourselves. When I need to give my son extra attention, my other child is happily engaged in creative activities—seeing this makes me feel so happy and relaxed instead of guilty for a change.”
Sian, mother of a Happy Families participant.

"I love painting so much. I didn’t know about it before. Now I use it to soothe myself when things are hard."
Happy Mondays participant.

Our sessions boost confidence, improve wellbeing, and create a sense of belonging -for both children and their families.

Mark Your Calendar: 18 – 25 March

Our Goal is to Raise £10,000 by 25 March

This is a time-sensitive opportunity to make your donation go further.

  • The campaign goes live on 18 March and runs until 25 March.

  • Every pound you give will be matched, meaning your donation has double the impact.

  • Share this campaign with friends, family, and colleagues to help spread the word.

Together, we can make sure children with SEN+D continue to have access to creativity, joy, and support.
